Alexander Graham Bell's iconic telephone call to his assistant Watson on March 10, 1876, changed the world for the better. The world changed again when Steve Jobs launched the legendary iPhone on June 29, 2007, giving the world an invaluable gift and thus the word smartphone came into existence. Today, smartphones have become an invaluable part of our lives. They are something we cannot live without as our daily lives revolve around them. Over time, we have had iconic smartphones but fairly disappointing ones are there too. 

Here is a list of the Top 5 Biggest Smartphone Facepalms:

1. BLACKBERRY STORM

With the crown given by the users and reviewers of "The Worst Smartphone Ever" back in 2008 this phone definitely had a lot of haters. The smartphone had a clickable touch screen which some found satisfying but for most people was a nightmare. A laggy screen, outdated software, horrible performance and no Wi-Fi led to its demise and recalling of one million sold pieces of the "Storm" they created.

2. AMAZON FIRE PHONE

Amazon while doing well in the tablet business decided to enter the smartphone segment. In 2014, Amazon entered the market with the Fire Phone. Giving up the budget approach which they had adopted till now, they went all out with this pricing it very highly. The device had poor battery life, a laggy interface, and no Google Maps support. The device's performance on the market was as dull as its appearance. With this endeavour, Amazon put $170 Million on "Fire".  

3.  APPLE iPhone 6+

                                      

        

I guess this comes as a shock to a lot of people that how did an Apple device end up on this list. The iPhone 6 Plus did not have a structurally sound body as usual. The device had a point if the pressure to be applied would cause it to bend. This came as a surprise to the people after seeing exceptional quality over the years. A lot of videos and memes were made on this very problem which caused a negative image. The iPhone 6+ did not have any "Plus" points for the company nor its stocks.    

   

4. SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 7

This device had everything that made it a great buy. Superb display, the beloved S-Pen, great battery life and everything you can imagine in a flagship device. Despite all the plus points, it bombed after its sales literally. The reason for the same was a faulty battery setup which caused the wires to touch and heat up. This heat caused the phone to burst. Samsung ultimately took " Note" of the problem and recalled all its devices. 

As a bonus fact, many companies skipped the number 7 in their naming as it was being considered a bad omen.

5. SAMSUNG GALAXY FOLD

This is a revolutionary smartphone making the dreams of a foldable phone come to reality. This smartphone had a majority of problems which included a space in between causing dust to collect there or the screen starting to peel off. All these problems were encountered even before a launch in the reviewers unit causing a severe backlash on their image. This failure after the Note fiasco caused a "Galaxy" of questions to open up about the company's reliability.

 With the changing technologies and growing competition, companies try a lot of different products in the markets. Some succeed and do record sales and others end up tanking their reputation and profits. Still, we all appreciate the hard work they do to present us with these new technologies even after encountering hiccups.
