Must Have Work From Home Essentials
Since the lockdown started last year, I have continued to make my work environment as efficient as possible. The major aim in the whole year was to make a setup that motivates me to work for longer hours without getting tired. In this journey of finding the perfect products, I have tested a huge range and have finally concluded the must-haves. So without any further ado, here is my list of must-have Work-from-Home Essentials.
1.Resonate RouterUPS
Having a great Wi-Fi connection is a must to work efficiently. A high-speed internet connection is always a great tool that every person must have to give their best at all times. Despite having the best internet connectivity, a problem is still there in the form of power cuts. No matter how advanced the city you live in is, India has a constant problem of power cuts.
This is a way more rampant problem in cities that are prone to rainy days. The constant power cuts result in the disconnecting of the Wi-Fi, which always takes time to restart. In comes the Resonate RouterUPS, which is a power bank modified as a UPS. This gadget has been my life saviour as it has saved me countless times. No matter how severe the power cut is, its 4-hour power backup is a lifesaver. Priced at just Rs.1999, it is a must-have.

2.Ethernet Port Converter
Having the fastest Wi-Fi speeds is no guarantee of the fastest speed on your device. When the connection is shared by everyone at the same time, the speeds drop drastically. If the topmost speed and quality of the network are required, this adapter is a life-saver. This product by TP-Link is what I have been using for a very long time. Just connect this to your laptop and the ethernet cable and let it do its magic.
Once the connections are in place, the Wi-Fi is shared with no one. This process assures that the full capacity of the network is utilised. Say bye to video call drops or blurriness and ensure crisp call quality. It is priced at Rs. 1099 for the USB-C variant and Rs.999 for the USB 3.0 version.
3.Great Headphones
We are almost set to work with a great internet connection and our setup. But there is one more thing that we have forgotten. A peaceful environment is a must if we want to be productive. With the daily happenings going on in our homes, finding calm and focus is impossible. Since everybody can't have a soundproof room, a great headphone is a must to have. Headphones come in various budgets and qualities. Finding a great pair is not easy, but a must-have function is a Noise-Cancellation feature.
4.Bed Table
Often we have a lot of pending work, but there is no motivation to go and sit at a table. In such times, I often use a bed table and work quite comfortably on it. They are usually made up of engineered wood and have a great finish. They start for Rs. 450, but the quality and user experience is quite awful. I would suggest you slightly increase your budget to Rs. 800 and go for the best one out there. The MemeHo study table comes with anti-slip legs, which is a steal deal for me. It comes in 4 colours, and my personal favourite is the wood finish.
5.Mobile Dock
While working non-stop, mobile notifications are a massive distraction to our workflow. Even if we mute them, there is a massive chance that we might miss something important in this hyper-connected world. To avoid this, I would suggest everyone buy a mobile dock for themselves. The dock keeps the device in an upright position and the screen visible to us. Even if the device is on silent, the screen lighting up is a great heads-up.
Even though there are lots of options to consider, I would recommend the ELV Aluminium Mobile Dock as they are highly durable. Priced at just Rs.319, they can hold up anything up to an iPad.
6.Desk-Arm Rest Support
Although this does not apply to everyone, typing for long hours can make your elbows pain a little. To avoid this, there is a simple solution of using desk-arm support. They come with cushion padding and are a must-have. They help in the proper flow of blood and prevent diseases caused by working long hours. Investing in a good armrest is an investment in your well-being.
7. Desk Plants/Bobble Heads
Last but not least, one must have some synthetic desk plants or bobbleheads as they keep things lively. Whether you are bored or want to relax, they are always there to play with or admire. I do not recommend having real plants on the desk as they need to be watered. As we all know how dangerous water is for gadgets, so it is better to avoid them. I have no recommendation on what to use as everyone has their own taste and preferences.
I hope you like my recommendations of gadgets that assist one to work more efficiently. If you have any more on your list, do share in the comments. And do not hydrate properly and take breaks in between as they are the most important things to do.

Blue-light filters glasses are the most required things as they protect your eyes.
ReplyDeleteBlue-light filters are usually not recommended as they are not very efficient. I would rather recommend using the dark mode and taking sufficient breaks. Thank you for your valuable input.

In my opinion, Laptop Stand and Hard Disks are pretty common as everybody has one. I have tried to include things are not known much by people. I am planning to buy the XM4 soon as they are just a class apart and top of the line. XM3 is currently just 5k cheaper.
